Wedding, Minus 40! and Virus
Yesterday I performed a wedding. Here is a picture of the happy couple, Lin (the man) and Xuan (the woman) are in the middle of the picture. The two witnesses appear on either side. It is wonderful to be with people on one of the happiest days of their lives.
In the morning I went for a pedicure and facial. I was so relaxed I fell asleep during the facial. It was awfully nice to pamper myself.
Today the temperature outside is -30 with a windchill of -40! That will be the same in either Celsius or Fahrenheit. Most of the streets are deserted as people are opting to stay home today. I am doing laundry and trying to keep warm and hydrated.
I have a virus. Woke up at two am with a sore throat and today I am aching all over and tired, so I will go for a nap after this.
Tonight I go to my friends' house for dinner and I will take a cab. I probably would be wiser to stay home but I haven't seen these friends since before Christmas and I missed them. Since I'm cabbing I'll have no worries about whether the car will start or driving after a couple of glasses of wine.
Keep warm out there, all those on the prairies today. As for those in BC, I am not there yet to share in the balmy (2-4 degrees) you are having to day. I am envious. I left my heart in Vancouver. Oh, well, LAST WINTER IN WINNIPEG!
