Anniversaries and Other Celebrations
Yesterday I was really busy. In the morning I had my yard sale. I'm still stiff from all the lifting and carrying. I only made about $150 but I did get rid of about half of the stuff. Now the boxes only take up half the basement! I plan on having another sale in September. Then Mother and I went to Jeanette and George's 55th anniversary party. I enjoyed talking with some people I hadn't seen in years. On the way there Mother said, "This is the last anniversary party I'm going to." But I know she enjoyed herself. Many pictures were taken (by other people - I forgot my camera) and she was smiling in all of them. So when or if I get some I'll post a couple.
In the evening I went to dinner with Pat, Paul, Al, and Janine. We had Coquilles Saint-Jacques and Mahi Mahi grilled on the BBQ with a melon sauce. Washed down with copious amounts of wine. Delicious. We were celebrating the birthdays of Pat, Paul and Janine and the retirement of Al and Janine. Janine said she had been missing him. It is so nice to hear other people say they miss him.
On Friday I decided I wanted to put up a flower planter on my fence, so I figured it was time to replace the missing drill bits and screw heads for my electric drill. The chuck to tighten the bits was also MIA, so it was off to Home Depot for replacement parts. I am proud to report that I put up the planter all by myself using the electric drill. Yes, I can. That's my new motto.
I met him on this date exactly 41 years ago. July 9th 1965. Love at first sight. I've been so busy lately that I'm spending the day at home quietly. I'll read and take the dog for a walk and remember...
