News from the Ouseys, A New Fence, Sad News

I see that Jack has blogged again! Great stuff! Good to hear about Jamie and Andrew and their activities. The final signature is awaited for Jack's tenure job at SOSU. I'm sure it will happen, but it must be hard to wait.

And Gary has blogged again also. The movie "World's Fastest Indian" sounds good. I plan to see it. Great picture of Carolyn's ancestors. Aren't they handsome looking people!

As you can see by the pictures below this post, the big news here is the old fence is gone! The new fence cometh. The fence builders started this morning at 7:30. It is 5:30 now our time and they are just knocking off. Although if Frank had his way, they would work until dark. I have had two people in to measure the bathrooms and work up estimates and another comes this evening.

I went to take Nana some groceries. I will be taking her to the Pacemaker Clinic on Thursday for a checkup. She is still grieving, of course. She found an old rosary that Dennis had given her for Mother's Day when he was still a kid. She was happy to have found that. Whenever I am with her she talks about the days when Dennis was a boy and tells me stories. I like to hear them.

I had some sad news today. A principal who I taught with for many years has cancer in his esophagus, liver and lymph nodes. He has had radiation and will be starting chemotherapy soon. I think it is just to buy him more time. We were quite good friends. He and his wife used to be part of the Trivial Pursuit friends. It's very sad. Another old friend that Dennis used to curl with just died about two weeks ago and a teacher friend's husband has liver cancer and has been given a year at most. All of these people are young - in their fifties. Too many people are dying young. Why is this happening? It is somewhat depressing.

The good news is: 15 days until Margot. And the blog has had 9809 hits. It is getting close to the 10 000 mark!

Dennis wrote: "Life is what you make it. So make it good!" I'm trying to make it good as fast as I can.

Read Jack and Gary's blog also. Good to see what everyone is up to. Your fence replacement looks like its coming along. Never knew you were up to so many renos! Planning on selling the house?

I hear that Gary's mother is interested in moving to BC? You never know- we might see you two out here sooner than anyone expected.

Too bad about all those people dying. Yes, it is too young. Don't know what's up. Much cancer it seems. Hope I never get it. Don't think I could be positive enough to overcome it.

An old rosary found from years before that your dead child gave to you for a mothers' day gift must've been very hard for Nana. Gee, life lost is such a grief.

A wonder our emotions. Sometimes, I think it's a good thing we have them and at other times-too difficult-wish we didn'. Guess we wouldn't like it if we couldn't feel though. '

Read Margot's blog. She sure is/was having a tough time with her grief. Makes you want to do something, but we can't. Just be there if they need us I guess.

Well, let's look to those who are still with us and the good they bring to our lives. Like a birthday card from your sister!!!!! It touches you to the core. Thanks sis.
