Wednesday

I spent the night at the house in Winnipeg last night.  It was REALLY quiet.  I kept expecting the dog to be underfoot, especially every time I went to the fridge and when I am on the computer she is usually right beside me on her blanket.  And sleeping alone is no fun.  Funny, but I used to be out of town a lot when I was working.   Although I enjoyed the travel, I never really enjoyed being away from home but usually was so busy that I didn't have time to think about it.  In many ways it is different now, Catherine and I are married and have been for a long time but we are also best friends and spend lots of time together.  Being retired has changed us.....I think we are closer now than we have ever been.  Of course the dog is a companion too and who loves you more than your dog?  No matter what mood you are in the dog doesn't care she just wags her tail and loves you.
I pulled a shift at the Air Museum this morning and there was some excitement...  About 25 years ago a couple of members of the museum pulled a 1929 Junkers F13 out of the bush in BC's interior.  It has been sitting in a quonset hut at St. Andrews airport for those 25 years until today.  Today it is being shipped to the Deutsches Technikmuseum in Berlin where they will take five years to refurbish it and then they will ship it back to our museum for display for five years, then it will go back to Germany for display for five years and alternate like that.   It's the first contract that Germany has signed with a museum outside of Germany.  Neat HUH?  Oh yeah, they were shooting a movie in the Vickers Viscount and they will be there all week.  Speaking of movies, Brad Pitt is coming to town to do some filming for a movie and they are having a call for bit parts....maybe I should go? They could probably use a stunt double for Brad!....I am available.  nyuk nyuk
I got back to Gimli just in time for a downpour of rain.  We got quite a bit...20 to 30 mms ore so.  Sunshine tomorrow, I hope!
Peace.
