If this is Saturday it must be Gimli

We are at the lake.  Just finished watching "Spanglish" with Adam Sandler,  Tia Leoni, Paz Vega, and Cloris Leachman.  Its truly one of the better movies I have seen in a long while.  I like it when Adam Sandler really acts.  I have only seen it once before in "The Wedding Singer".   Just last week we saw "The Woodsman" with Kevin Bacon.  Kevin deserves an Oscar for that performance....outstanding.

Today was hot, hot.  It was 34 deg C and the humidity was high.  It made it very hard to breathe.   The beach was packed and it seems like everyone was in the  water.   I kept thinking about the nice comfortable house with air conditioning in the city but it is nice out here in the nature.   The leaves are rustling and the sound of distant thunder is like Shock and Awe.   How come you never count the seconds between seeing lightening and hearing thunder in the city but you ALWAYS count in the country?   Is it because you feel so close to Mother Nature and it makes you vulnerable?  No relief for tomorrow as it will again be hot and near 30.  Maybe tomorrow I'll go for a swim at the beach....kinda scary because the last time I went in the water, I couldn't get back out, everytime I tried to get out these Greenpeace types would run over and pull me back into the water.

The dog has given up on us and has gone to bed (on a quilt by the TV).   Well, its midnight and I guess she has the right idea, so nitey, nite!
