Bloody teeth...Oh brother, have a banana!
We just got back from downtown. It has been a week of blood tests for both Catherine and I. I had the same bood test three times in a row. The lab had erred the first time and got a reading of 2000 on an enzyme that should have been in the 150 range.....egad sir, I should have been sorry twisted mass on the edge of death. It took them two more tries but they finally got an accurate reading of 170. I'm ALIVE, I'm ALIVE. As far as Catherine is concerned they got a high potassium reading and her Doctor wanted a second test to confirm. Its not serious but you don't want high potassium levels. As she was eating a banana today, I told her that she should cut back on the bananas and she gestured with the banana in a very rude way! It certainly had no appeel to me.
We took Mother to see the denturist yesterday. The Dr. wanted an impression from her. I said, "So what do you think Doc?"....."She seems really nice, don't you agree?".......he agreed. See his website HERE . New teeth would cost her around $1200.00. Gary seems to think that the teeth would be made from gold, but no, they will be made from plastic. Fitting, because they will be paid for with plastic. And now she wants new glasses...... Gee, new teeth, a pace-maker, new glasses and with her dual hearing aids, this 87 year old woman will be bionic! Is she thinking of gettin herself a new Beau? No, wellllll, .....no. No time for that between cribbage and 31.
Last night was the start of the sixth "Big Brother", and it looks like it will be a smashing show. Lots more young, 'hard-bodies' this time. I think the oldest is around 33. I always like to root for the old ones, I don't know why. The new Big Brother house is a much bigger two story house, with secret doors, panels and all. It should be good.
The 'Folk Festival' is on this weekend at Bird's Hill Park. EmmyLou harris, Ricky Scaggs, Daniel lanois, local groups Nathan and the Weatherthans, and FEIST and others will be there. See their WEBPAGE
