Just got home....I was at the Aviation Museum this AM. It took us all morning to load the Hispano-Bouchon onto a trailer destined for the so-called 'National' Museum in Ottawa. We had to man-handle it all the way into the trailer, tail first. Glad that is done.
Last night I had a board meeting for the Museum. I am now a 'sustaining' member of the board.....means I gets a vote. Boring, boring boring, how on earth do they get anything done? Crushingly dull, but I suppose comforting to some. I guess that to some no change means security. I have to rattle things up the next time.
Tomorrow we have the Humanist executive meeting.....busy week. Saturday, we have the Humanist general meeting. It will be the last meeting that I organize. I don't have time for it anymore, so someone else will have to do it.
I think Carol had a good Mothers day Dinner here Sunday. Carol got calls from Lyn, Noni, and David, all wishing her a good Mom's day. Catherine heard from her two sisters and Joel called and then later in the evening Margot called. Catherine was thrilled at all the attention. Mom got flowers from Gary and flowers from Jack and Catherine and I got her a new crib board, cards and some extra pegs because we knew that she needed them. We had roast beast and Jeannies cake too. Now time to diet if I want to reach that 190 goal that I set for myself.....now was that lbs or kgs??? hummmmm I just want to be able to get into that size nine dress....er suit...well you know what I mean!
Carol taught us some 'on board' cruise etiquette. Never sit down and take the napkin out of the wine glass and put it in your lap......let the waiter do it.....but be sure to wink at him when he does it, just to keep him on edge! Anyhow I always tuck my napkin into the top of my shirt so I don't get bean juice, etc. on my paisley tie!
According to some news reports there are still some Japanese submarines out there that do not know that the war has ended and they harass the cruise ships at or near the Hubbard Glacier. I hope we don't encounter any but if we do, I will be ready with my Japanese phrase book:
この船を沈めてはいけない。戦争はある。....Don't shoot, the war is over! Well, it could happen..........
Better go pack. Later. Peace.
