damn blogger; fighter, Fonger, go figure
Well, well. Damn blogger. I wrote a blog early in the week and it disappeared when I went to publish it! Then, I SWEAR....I did another blog and while it published and I saw it on the blogsite...it too disappeared.
Anyways, nothing much new here.....except that Catherine and I have decided that on the Alaska cruise we want to do the White Pass train and bus thing. That is the one thing that we would really like to do and that would be in Skagway. That is (probably) the one side trip that sells out the fastest, so I think that we will book it when we pay our final cruise bill in March. As far as Ketchikan and the other towns we stop at, we are for just traipsing around the towns. Apart from that we are packed and ready to go!
I read Lewis's blog and he said that he wanted the kids in Victoria to send some pics so he could take them to Winnipeg to show Aunt Merle when he visits on the 5th Feb. So, I took it upon myself to send him several digital pics from my collection....never heard if he got them but since I did not get the email back I assume he got them. Anyhow...your welcome!
I was out at the museum three times this week. We have a special show on about the Hispano-Buchon HE1112 (spanish version of the German Messerschmitt BF-109) . See the poop here. The Hispano Buchon is going back to the Ottawa museum where it was on loan from. We also have a display on about a father and sons trip around the world in a Piper Commanche twin. quite a trip for a small plane. See that poop here. Don Fonger (the Dad) took 1 1/2 years to plan the 1987 trip. He had to write to each and every airport to get customs clearance, etc, for a 'pit stop'. Anyhow it was quite a thrill for both of them. The son, James Fonger, went on to pioneer a minimally invasive heart surgery procedure in New York. See that poop here.
Wow, Noni blogged and now she rules....must be the 40+ maturity thing happening....more time on her hands! Keep blogging everyone!
