Well, today we hauled the 'big-rig' out to the campsite at Gimli. Everyone seemed so friendly, stopping by to say hello and even introducing themselves. Even the dog seemed happy there, well maybe a little nervous about the two big dogs next door but they seem well behaved and rather quiet. Suzie is pretty quiet too...I haven't heard her bark since last September when mean ole Chuffley wuz eatin' one of her cookies!...WOOF! They must have had some rain out there because there is an abundance of standing water. We did not stay the night as 'twas too cool...Shakespeare wouldst say that it was "Ever cold so that it wouldst turn frosty the odd codpiece...and thou doest not want a frosty codpiece, Milord!". We are in site E14 and across the road from us is E15 wherein doth reside an older but stylish trailer and they do ask a very nominal price for said trailer which sleeps 6, has a/c, propane stove & heat, looks large from the outside and resides on a large nice site (with a patio no less). My lady and I would be interested in seeing the inside and having a chat with the owners who would have been there today if it weere not for the fact that they were not...there today that is...I shall try to catch them tomorrow as they did not answer their phone in the city tonight either.
Sometimes you pass the stone and sometimes the stone passes you...
I had my annual check-up with my Doctor two weeks ago and everything seems to be stable and that is good, except that he said that on an x-ray he could see a large kidney stone....about 4mm in size. I hope that it works its way out before it gets too large. the last time I passed a stone (7mm refer to pics!) it shot out rather like it came from a canon and ricochetted off the toilet seat and skittered across the bathroom floor and down the hallway nearly hitting the dog who was trying to attract my attention to the supply of cookies residing behind the hallway closet door!....whew. I learned afterwards that the upper limits in kidney stone passing was in the range of 6mm and I had beaten it by 1mm...is there an award for that, if not there should be...or at least a cookie for my dog.
Life and repairs are what happens to you when you're drivin' a Ford...
You will be glad to know that the Taurus is running well now. They haven't figured out why the ABS light is coming on..."Could be a short!", Greg the mechanic says but we'll put it on the computer to see. They fixed the front end...ball-joints, tie-rods and a couple of anti-pollution devices that cost an arm and a leg, they were causing the "Check the Engine Soon Dummy" light to come on ...it is now off. So all is well except that I'll have to take the car back in as soon as Greg the mechanic deciphers the 12 pages of computer print-out that refers to what is wrong with my ABS light.
Well, better go and get to bed now...keep blogging!
