When my father died and my two brothers and I sat down to talk about him, we discovered that we were talking about three different men - and I had never met the other two.

Hello, Monday. It was cool all weekend hovering around zero to +5 deg c. but it was sunny, and Sunday it was a little warmer. It is supposed to warm up over the course of the week and rise to 13 deg c by Thursday. Oh well, C'est la vie.
Condoleeza's testimony before the 9/11 commission was all over the talk shows yesterday. What pathetic testimony. ...filled with cliches. She said they shook the trees, refused to swat flies and that if they coulda, they woulda, but there just was "no silver bullet." Rice's testimony was intended to be a strong defense of her boss but in the final analysis was confirmation that someone in the Bush administration, possibly including her, dropped the ball. But hearing Bush's national security adviser repeatedly describe the Aug 6 PDB (memo) a possible smoking-gun document as a "historical document" was too much like listening to Janet Jackson explain her Super Bowl exhibitionism as "a wardrobe malfunction." No matter how many times you hear the story, it just doesn't sound any more credible.
