Peter Ustinov..."Beliefs are what divide people. Doubt unites them."

We watched a movie last night called "Tadpole". with John Ritter, Bebe Neuworth, Sigourney Weaver. It was quite good, divided into chapters named from humourous quotes by Voltaire like, "If God did not exist, we would have had to invent him"...and "Judge a man by his questions and not by his answers" and " Anything that is too stupid to be spoken is sung". The movie itself was say, 4 on a scale of 5. Its about a young man of 15 falling in love with his step-mother.
The weather has been changeable lately 20 one day and 6 the next. Not much rain though....as long as the sun shines I'm OK with it.
Did you watch last nights "Survivor"? Shii Ann Huang got the boot. Not entirely a surprise though, as she was the last remaining member of Mogo Mogo. After a valiant fight last week to get immunity. Its too bad she had to go.....but that is 'Survivor'. Only 3 episodes left.......who will go next week? I don't like that Boston Rob...or Amber for that matter. I would like to see Rupert win......yah, Rupert.
Well better go, we are going over to the U of M to see if we can set up a table for the Humanists at the 'Congress of the Learneds' at the end of May. They expect 6000 people from several groups (5 of which are religious groups!) so it should be fun. We will pass out our 'core beliefs' pamphlets, etc. SCIENCE OVER SUPERSTITION!
You know what bothers me most about religion? Every religion has an 'after life'. If only people would live together in harmony in THIS LIFE instead of say, becoming a human bomb and rushing off to be with 40 virgins in the 'after life'.....what a waste.....let's give life a chance.......Imagine.
So better go ...........keep on blogging.
"Now is not the time to be making enemies!" said Voltaire on his deathbed when a priest admonished him to renounce Satan.
Voltaire also said, " I dissapprove of what you say but I will defend to the death of your right to say it!" here here
