'Won't it be a great day when the Air Force has to hold bake sales to get a new bomber and the schools have all the money they need?'" --Charles Gibson
---------------------------------------
Two days since my last post! BIn Laden..Bin busy..Bin shovellin'! We got dumped on..snow that is. It started Friday evening and continued throughout the night. Not only did we get 15-20 cms of snow ..that's about 7or8 inches Canadian...or about 10 inches American, but it drifted like mad! I soon realized on Saturday morning that my little shovel was not going to do it, so I looked around for the snow-blower and found that it was still in the back by the shed....under roughly 15 to 20 cms of snow (10" American). Not being much of a planner, I remember thinking, about October, that I must move it before the snow comes. Now I had to dig it out of the snow before I could fire it up! I did dig...a path and it out! It started fine and I was able to blast my way down the driveway and out and around the house...it was a north wind, so I had great faking pile o' snow at the front of the house, especially on the steps. It was about -20 deg c. or about 30 euros, at the time i was snowturfing (we in Manitoba have at least 30 words for moving snow) and it plummeted from there going down to -32 deg c last night...as we say around here, cold enough to freeze the balls off a brass monkey. I don't know why we say that because there are no brass monkeys around here......we just say it.....we have a 'golden boy' and a little bronze boy with a little bronze boot but no brass primates. Faking Cold is all.
Today it is still around -22 c but sunny and no wind.
Yesterday I hosted the executive meeting of the Humanist Assoc. of MB. The meeting took up most of the afternoon. We are petitioning our Mayor Gen Murray to declare Feb 12, 2004 as Darwin Day....since that is Darwin's B-day. He should be amenable to that especially since we have other days, like gay pride day. I like that one since I think everyone should be happy! Anyhow, general dinner meeting next week and we have a speaker who will talk on funerals without God. Innerestin' very innerestin'.
Well better go and do todays x-word puzzle ...Cathy's bugging me to do it!
