On Sunday we went to the rally in support of same-sex marriages. There was about 300 people there. There was only one aniti-gay marriage guy there so it was quite a good rally. Couldn't ask for better weather, (Catherine and I both got a bit of sunburn). Wish we could have had a banner to show that the Manitoba Humanists support the cause, but our association does not have one, although someone has been tasked with getting one ASAP. It lasted for about an hour but we did not stay for the whole thing as we haf the dog with us and she was getting restless.
Yesterday was a nice sunny day and 26 deg. c. Today it is sunny and going to 27deg.c. You can't have better weather than this!
Monday we went over to the Fort Whyte Nature Centre....we are members. The geese on the lakes were just thick...maybe 20 or 25 thousand. They say that at Oak Hammock Marsh there are approx. 1/2 million geese going through there everyday We walked down a few trails at the FWC and at one point sat and watched the songbirds feeding (mostly Chickadees). They have a herd of Bison out in the field there and an enclosure for prairie dogs, too. If the weather is nice when Joel and Margot come we may go there for an afternoon. After the nature walk we went for our workout.
I see by Gary's blog that he is having a good time touring Nova Scotia, sounds like they are scoring a bunch of free meals, including a turkey dinner at one campground! And now I guess they are off to the good ole US of A. I see that Jack hasn't updated his blog for a while....hey Jack Whaaaaazzzzzzzup?
