Here it is Monday and I haven't blogged since Friday! Holy moly. Osama bin busy!
On Friday night, we all went out to Oceana restaurant to celebrate Mom's birhday. We all came back to our place for Jeannies cake. Jack and I chipped in and got her a set of earrings....beauuutiful. And Margot and Joel bought her a nice brooch. Mom had a good time., as we all did.
As I said Jack arrived Tues and Margot and Joel arrived Thurs. And we have been busy since. On Saturday Catherine and I took Margot and Joel to see a play at MTC. The play was called "Cookin' at the Cookery", a biography of a blues singer named Alberta Hunter. It was great and at the end of the play they got a huge standing ovation. While we were at the play, Jack had a good visit with Mother. After the play, everyone came back to our place for pizza. And then of course, we played Trivial Pursuit. Jack, Margot and I were playing long after everone was gone. The battery on the Corolla gave out on Jack when he was at Mom's place.....you'd think that a battery would last longer than 12 years..... Oh well, its the original battery, so I can't complain.
Sunday, Catherine made a huge turkey dinner. Mom was here and we invited Kevin and Kim, but only Kevin could make it. We had a wonderful meal. Also on Sunday, Joel spent a busy day raking and trimming and raking and replanting...and raking. He sure gets satisfaction out of hard work like that and I am appreciative of the help around the house....because like, I'm not that enthusiastic about yard-work. After dinner, we watched a movie and Jack and I copied some of each others software/music on the computer.
Today is Monday and Catherine and I are up early ... the others are still in bed. And today Jack leaves to go back to Oklahoma and the kids, and work, and gittin' up early, and work....poor guy. Its a good thing he really loves his work! And he really misses the kids. We had a real good visit and I shall really miss him when he leaves. He has his sense of humour back and it was wonderful to see. He brought us a ceramic whistle...a kind of french dude with a beret. He also gave me a SOSU hat and I gave him my 2002 Salt Lake City, Olympic "Roots" hat which reads CANADA on the back.
I saw Gary's updated blog. He is Wal-mart hopping from Nova Scotia to Ithica and I guess now they are staying in a campground in Ithica, NY.
Well, tomorrow is another day.........
