"Life is what you make it, so make it good." (Prairie Dog Blog: December 29, 2003)
The writer of those words in this blog is gone. Dennis Ousey, 58, who loved life as this blog will testify, died on December 16, 2005. He was only sick for about a month and was only diagnosed with brain cancer one week before he died. This man was my friend, my lover, my husband and my partner for almost forty years. His mother said it best, "He had a short life, but it was a good one." Family and friends were the most important things in his life. I am grieving the loss of this complex, intelligent, sensitive, flawed, funny man. I am trying to keep my connection to him alive through rereading this blog. It is hard to realize I will never again talk to him, see him or hold him. I know one thing - he made my life good. We met when we were 18 and it was love at first sight for both of us. He is the only man I ever loved. Some day I will be able to think of him with happiness for the good times we had, but for now there is only pain.
To those who read his blog in the past or who stumble upon it in cyberspace, keep his words in your heart. "Life is what you make it, so make it good."
